Sat, Sept. 7:  10:00-11:30

Shop from a grocery list, compare prices to determine the best deal, add totals, count play money & make change!  

Skills:  add/subtract/multiply decimals, count money, make numerical comparisons.

Sat, Sept. 28:  10:00-11:30

Create a theme & a budget.  Each student will have their own budget & will be assigned supplies to 'buy'.  Shop online, compare prices, and work together to stay within budget!!

Skills:  calculate unit costs, add decimals, compare stores & sales, follow a budget!

Sat, Oct. 5:  10:00-11:30

Play restaurant as a customer, waiter/waitress or a cashier!  Take orders from a menu, add up the bill, calculate taxes & tips, count play money & make change!  

Skills:  add/subtract/multiply decimals, work with percentages, learn about taxes & tips.

Sat, Nov. 16:  10:00-11:30

Get creative with math!  Collect data, estimate, & scale ... to design the coolest playground!

Skills:  measurements, area & perimeter, ratios.

Sat, Dec. 7:  10:00-11:30

'Shop' online to compare sales!  What is the best deal?  Where should I shop?

Skills:  work with percentages & decimals, critical thinking, numerical comparisons.

Sat, Dec. 21:  10:00-11:30

Plan your day at a Theme Park!  Follow a list of requirements and squeeze it all into the day!

Skills:  understand time, distance, scheduling, & planning within criteria.
