Can I join a class after it has started?
In most cases, we can make that happen. First, we will give the student an assessment (no cost) to see if they are ready to jump right in. If they need some help first, we can have a few private tutoring sessions to get caught up and then they can join the class.
Do all classes start in September?
No. Classes can start any time!! To request a class, click on the “Priority Waiting List” link (in the dropdown under ‘Math Classes’), fill-out the short form, and we will contact you asap to get the ball rolling.
How can I find out how many students are registered for a class, so I have an idea on the cost?
When you reserve a seat in the class, we will send you an email to let you know how many students are in the class so far. Each time a student is added to the class, an email will be sent to all of the students in the class to update them on the numbers.
Should I wait to register when I know how many students are in the class (so that I know the fee)?
Nope…here’s why…reserving a seat is free and it starts the count of students in the class. More students = more savings…so we really need to know you might want a seat! We will stay in contact with you each time the registration count changes, so you will know when the fee drops. 10 days before the class starts (or when the class fills) we will give you a final update on class size & fee.
What if I reserve a seat in a class and then change my mind before the class begins?
No problem! Let us know at least one week before the class starts and we will remove your registration. We will also notify the other students in the class to update them on the enrollment count and fee.
What will we do in class online?
I will give the students a lesson on the topic and we will work through lots of examples together. We will use the “I do, We do, You do” approach so that everyone in the group is engaged and working together!
Do I need a book or any other materials for class?
All you need is a pencil, a calculator (nothing fancy) and a printed copy of the lesson that I will email to you before each session.
How much homework is there for a high school class?
Math takes practice! It is expected that each student spends 5 hours per week on the material. We will use IXL for homework. We chose IXL because it is very student friendly, providing step-by-step instructions when a problem is answered incorrectly.
When is payment due, since I won’t know how many students will
be joining the pod at the time that I submit the request form?
Once the class size is finalized (usually 5 days before the class starts),
a $199 deposit will be due and the remaining balance will be invoiced
in 2 payments, spaced 6 weeks apart.
