In her own words......
Forever a Florida girl, I was raised to climb the ladder, have big dreams and never settle....and this is what brought me here.
I graduated from the University of Florida (go gators!) with a bachelor's degree in Statistics. I worked in industry for 10 years, landed some super awesome jobs and climbed the corporate ladder.
Along the way, I earned a master’s degree in Higher Ed Administration while teaching undergraduate statistics at Oklahoma State University. I continued my career climb, became a director at OSU and really felt 'successful'...
I was teaching college students (which I love!!!), advancing my career, bought my dream home and a fancy car...then life woke me up. In the process of climbing the ladder, I realized that I was losing sight of what was most important, all while feeling unfulfilled in my work.
So, I QUIT my fancy job. I started teaching college students full-time while building Mathocity...and I've never looked back. I knew I needed to do something that MATTERED, something that helped other people, something that would make a difference and leave a mark. I knew my true passion; teaching showed me that for sure. Through all of my career moves and advances, helping students learn is the most fulfilling, by a long shot!
So now my climb to the top is not about me, it is about students. ...and I want to reach a lot of them. I started Mathocity, not only to help students succeed in math, but also to show them that grit and determination can lead them anywhere. I am an example of that…and I've never been more fulfilled than I am today.
